Who we are
Paction is [DESCRIBE — e.g. "a campaign run by volunteers"]. The person responsible for your data (the "data controller") is [CONTROLLER NAME]. You can contact us about your data at hello@takepaction.org.
What we collect
- Your email address
- Which pact(s) you signed — each pact is an email list
- When you signed up and confirmed, which our email provider records as proof of your consent
We don't ask for your name, address or phone number.
Why, and on what basis
We use your email address only to send you the updates you asked for, for each list you joined. Joining a list may show that you support Paction's aims, so we treat your sign-up as sensitive information. We rely on your explicit consent, which you give by ticking the box(es) and confirming by email. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.
Who else sees it
Your data is stored and our emails are sent by our email provider, Infomaniak Network SA (Geneva, Switzerland), on our behalf. Your data is held in Infomaniak's own data centres in Switzerland. The UK recognises Switzerland as giving an adequate level of data protection. To deliver our emails, Infomaniak uses Amazon's email-sending service (Amazon SES), so your email address passes through it when we send you an email. We're looking for an alternative that doesn't rely on Amazon.
We never sell, rent or share your details with anyone else.
On this website, the only thing shown publicly is the total number of people on each list — never names or email addresses.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. [CONFIRM: what happens after unsubscribing, e.g. "we delete your details within 30 days"] During the current test run, sign-ups may be deleted when testing ends.
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data, or to stop using it, by emailing hello@takepaction.org. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
Our own pages don't use cookies or tracking. [CONFIRM once the sign-up form is added: whether Infomaniak's form sets any cookies]
